FAQ
Will the PNG look identical to the HEIC?
Yes. The HEIC is decoded once and re-encoded losslessly to PNG, so no additional quality is lost.
Why is the PNG so much bigger?
HEIC uses the HEVC codec which is far more efficient than PNG's DEFLATE compression. Lossless always trades size for quality.
Can I keep Live Photo motion?
No. Only the still frame is converted. Live Photo motion data is part of a separate .mov file.
