How to Convert WebP to JPG
WebP is great for the web but awkward to share: many email clients, document editors, and old printers refuse to open it. Converting to JPG fixes that in seconds, and ImageMint does it without ever uploading your file.

Open Format ConverterStep-by-Step Guide
- 1
Drop the WebP file
Single file or batch — ImageMint detects WebP automatically. Animated WebPs are supported: each frame can be exported individually.
- 2
Pick "Convert to JPG" and quality 90
Quality 90 is the sweet spot for re-encoding from WebP. Lower than 85 risks introducing visible artifacts because you are stacking lossy on top of lossy.
- 3
Download instantly
The JPG is generated in your browser and offered as a normal download. You can also pick "Add white background" if the original WebP had transparency.
Pro Tips
- JPG does not support transparency. ImageMint flattens transparent pixels onto a white background by default — change the color in the Advanced panel if needed.
- If you only need to share the image, consider keeping it as WebP. Modern Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Discord, and Word all open WebP natively.
- For animated WebPs, export the keyframe with "Export still frame" to get a single JPG poster image.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the JPG look worse than the WebP?
At quality 90 the difference is invisible to the human eye in normal viewing. Pixel-peepers may see slight differences in flat color areas because WebP and JPG use different compression strategies.
Why does the JPG end up larger than the WebP?
WebP compresses ~30% more efficiently than JPG at equivalent quality. A 200 KB WebP typically becomes a 280–320 KB JPG. That is normal and unavoidable when going to an older format.
Can I batch convert WebPs?
Yes. Drop a folder of WebP files and ImageMint will process them all and zip the JPGs together. There is no file count limit.
