Tips

- Use this when emailing photos to people whose mail client rejects AVIF attachments.
- The JPEG will typically be 1.5-2x the size of the source AVIF.
FAQ
Why would I downgrade from AVIF?
Compatibility. Some apps, printers, photo frames, and older browsers still cannot open AVIF files.
Does the JPEG look identical?
At quality 90+, very nearly so. There is some loss because both formats are lossy and the conversion is sequential.
Will transparency survive?
No. JPEG has no alpha channel. Transparent areas become white. Use PNG or WebP if you need transparency.
